Within the memorandum of understanding signed in September 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia, the Austrian railway company Rail Cargo Austria and the German wagon operator VTG successfully carried out a test intermodal flight, transporting semi-trailers on the Kyiv-Budapest route.

About 11,100 wagons with various goods were found waiting for a transfer through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on September 27 compared with 8,800 wagons in late August.
