Container Terminal Mostyska offers a new service for transshipment of mineral fertilizers. The customs zone allows fertilizers to be received and unloaded to the warehouse immediately after crossing the border, even before customs clearance is completed.
Last year, the Romanian seaport of Constanta handled 92.5 million tonnes of cargo (up 22.5% year-on-year), including 25 million t of Ukrainian goods.
The total transportation volume of mineral fertilizers by railways inched up by 1,000 t to 217,000 t in Ukraine in January 2024 compared with December 2023, showing an increase of 1% month-on-month and 29% year-on-year.
The Freeport of Riga processed 1.7 million t of cargo in January 2024 (down 46,000 t compared with December 2023).
Transshipment increased by 666,000 t to 4.1 million t in the port of Klaipeda in January 2024 owing to higher performance of both Klaipeda State Seaport (up 392,000 t to 3.1 million t) and the Butinge terminal (up 274,000 t to 966,000 t).
Together with the stevedore of the Klaipeda port, BEGA, LTG Cargo Ukraine has organized the delivery of 2,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizers from Klaipeda to Ukraine.
The plants of OSTCHEM nitrogen holding (Group DF) produced 2.1 million t of mineral fertilizers in 2023 (up 19.51% year-on-year), including 1.56 million t at Cherkasy Azot (up 39.63% year-on-year) and 528,000 t at Rivne Azot (down 10.81% year-on-year).
In 2023, the Moldovan port of Giurgiulesti handled 2.2 million t of cargo (up 18.64% year-on-year). Container handling performance reached a historic high of 8,646 TEU.
The Ventspils Freeport handled a total of 712,000 t of various goods in December 2023 compared with 107,000 t in November 2023.
