Qortia AG resumes grain shipments from Ukraine’s deep-water ports
Qortia AG (Switzerland), a trading and logistics company, has sent the vessel Bereket M (flying the Panamanian flag) with 21,500 tons of Ukrainian corn from Pivdennyi port to Turkey. This was the first vessel this year that the company loaded independently in a deep-water Ukrainian port.
Hannibal: new connection Italy – Hungary – Romania
Hannibal, a multimodal transportation operator (part of the Contship holding), has announced its plans to launch a new transportation route connecting Budapest (BILK terminal), Curtici (Arad terminal) and Milan (Melzo railway junction) by the end of 2024. The transit time is expected to be 48 hours. Two round trips per week are planned.

Poland: Almost 18.7 million tons of cargo carried by rail in March 2024*
A total of 18.68 million t of various goods were transported by railway in Poland in March 2024, up 5% compared with February but 11% below March 2023.
Export deliveries of ferrous metals by railway in March 2024
The railway traffic of rolled steel products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and scrap of ferrous metals increased by 8% month-on-month to 700,000 t in Ukraine in March. In particular, exports dropped by 5% month-on-month to 385,800 t, while domestic supplies surged by 29% month-on-month to 312,000 t.
Freight rolling stock rental rates in Baltic countries in April 2024
Rental rates remained unchanged in the Baltic countries in April compared with March. The changes in rental rates for box cars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m were only caused by currency fluctuations.
PKP CARGO to build new multimodal terminal in Radomsko
Polish operator PKP CARGO has signed a memorandum of intent to build a multimodal terminal in Radomsko. The project is aimed at developing a terminal that will combine rail and road transport, reorienting train and truck traffic from the center of Radomsko to its outskirts.
