Export deliveries of ferrous metals by railway from Ukraine in December
The volume of railway transportation of rolled steel products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and ferrous metal scrap decreased by 1% to 800,000 t in Ukraine in December compared with November.

Transportation of all goods to Chornomorska-Exp station restricted
Starting January 25 and until this decision is revoked, a convention will be in effect on the transportation of all cargo to Odesa Railways’ Chornomorska-Exp station (for the OPP) for all consignees.
Amendments to convention on transportation of certain goods to Wola Baranowska station in Poland
It is allowed to load sugar and confectionery products made of sugar (HS 17), residues and waste from the food industry as well as ready-made animal feed (23) from Ukrainian stations to Wola Baranowska LHS in Poland for Transhandrol. Loading of empty wagons is also allowed.
Number of receiving and sending tracks increased at Vadul-Siret station
During a meeting of Ukrainian and Romanian railroaders, a representative of the Ivano-Frankivsk Directorate of Ukrzaliznytsia said that last year another 1435 mm wide track was reconstructed at Vadul-Siret station.
Port of Giurgiulesti handled 2.2 million tons of cargo last year
In 2023, the Moldovan port of Giurgiulesti handled 2.2 million t of cargo (up 18.64% year-on-year). Container handling performance reached a historic high of 8,646 TEU.
Grain transshipment terminal to start operating on Ukrainian-Romanian border in February
During the meeting of representatives of the Ukrainian and Romanian railways, Viktor Gurdish, the GFR’s representative, has announced that a new grain transshipment terminal is going to be operational in February. The facility is situated near the Dorneşti station.
Freight rolling stock sales by Ukrainian enterprises in December 2023
Ukrainian wagon building enterprises delivered as many as 215 freight wagons to their customers in December 2023, including 162 hoppers, 38 flat cars, 14 tank cars and 1 coke quenching wagon.
