Freight rolling stock rental rates in Ukraine in January 2024
Rental rates for gondola cars have been growing in January 2024. Market participants explain this by shortage of such wagons at hands of large consignors, such as Poltava Mining.
Wagon queues at land border crossings*
Almost 8,100 wagons were waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on January 10 (down 1,871 wagons compared with December 27).
DTEK Energy orders additional 80,000 tonnes of coal from Poland
DTEK Energy has agreed to import additional 80,000 t of coal, bringing the total volume of contracted raw materials to 357,000 t. So far, 182,000 t have been delivered to Ukraine.
USAID AGRO Program to co-finance expansion of elevator capacities in Ukraine

Actual situation with navigation in Sulina and Bystre Canals
As of January 16, there were about 35 vessels at the Sulina and Bystre canals waiting to go west to the Danube ports (four each to Izmail and Reni, and one to Giurgiulesti). The average waiting time for westbound and eastbound calls ranges from one to three days.
LDZ Cargo offers 108 freight cars for rent
LDZ CARGO (a subsidiary of the Latvian railway concern Latvijas dzelzceļš) offers 108 railcars for rent, including 46 fitting platforms for large-tonnage containers (model 13-1223), 41 covered railcars (subject to withdrawal from the territory of Ukraine) and 21 transporter railcars (located in Ukraine, subject to repair by the lessee).
New FSRU Alexandroupolis LNG terminal to be integrated into TAP system

Port of Klaipeda cargo turnover in December
The cargo turnover dropped by 230,000 t to 3.4 million t at the Port of Klaipeda in December compared with November. In particular, Klaipeda State Seaport reports a 132,000 t plunge in December transshipment volume to 2.7 million t. Handling of crude oil dropped by 98,000 t to 692,000 t at the Butinge terminal.
GATX Rail Europe: Delivery of Zacns tank cars to a new customer, ADM
