Liepaja SEZ cargo turnover in November 2023
The November cargo turnover decreased by 149,000 t or 20% month-on-month to 590,000 t at the Liepaja Free Economic Zone (SEZ).
Port of Klaipeda cargo turnover in November 2023
The cargo turnover of the Port of Klaipeda remained unchanged in November compared with October. Meanwhile, a 135,000 t decrease in transshipment at the Klaipeda State Seaport to 2.9 million t was offset by a 129,000 t rise in handling of crude oil at the Butinge terminal to 790,000 t.

EP Cargo purchases 50 wagons to carry agricultural products
Czech railroad operator EP Cargo (part of the European energy company Energy and Industry Holding) has purchased 50 wagons with a body volume of 103 cubic meters for transportation of agricultural products.
Ermewa supplied 55 new intermodal wagons to Swedish company
The French company Ermewa has delivered 55 new intermodal wagons of the Sgmmnss 80′ type, manufactured at the Tatravagonka plant, to a Swedish customer. They are suitable for transportation of 20-, 30-, 40-foot and interchangeable containers.
Resumption of diesel supplies in containers from Klaipeda to Ukraine
AB Klaipėdos nafta (KN) is resuming the supply of diesel fuel in ISO containers (30,000 tonnes) by rail through Poland to Ukraine after a break. This batch of fuel was transferred from a tanker to KN tanks and then to tank containers.
Update on blockade of Ukraine’s western border crossings
The Hungarian Road Transport Association (MKFE) has announced that it will go on strike starting December 11 to draw the attention of the European Commission and the Hungarian government to the market impact of the EU-Ukraine agreement. Temporary ban on transit of all cargo to Poland and Germany through certain border crossings
In the period from December 9, 2023 to February 4, 2024, the carrier PKP Cargo S.A. will be subject to a convention that will restrict the transit of all cargo from Ukrainian railway stations to Germany and Poland through the Kostrzyn (PKP) and Kustrin-Kietz (DB) border crossings for all recipients.
