Wagon queues at land border crossings

            There were almost 9,600 wagons waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on December 10, down 1,342 wagons compared with November 29. In particular, as many as 1,567 wagons were standing loaded with grain on December 10 (down 73 units compared with November 29)

Deutsche Bahn starts construction of railroad line to future Fehmarnbelt underwater tunnel

            On December 7, the German company Deutsche Bahn announced the start of construction of a railway line on the approach to the future Fehmarnbelt Tunnel, which will connect two islands – Danish Lolland and German Fehmarn – under the Fehmarn Belt.

Port of Klaipeda cargo turnover in November 2023

          The cargo turnover of the Port of Klaipeda remained unchanged in November compared with October. Meanwhile, a 135,000 t decrease in transshipment at the Klaipeda State Seaport to 2.9 million t was offset by a 129,000 t rise in handling of crude oil at the Butinge terminal to 790,000 t.

EP Cargo purchases 50 wagons to carry agricultural products

            Czech railroad operator EP Cargo (part of the European energy company Energy and Industry Holding) has purchased 50 wagons with a body volume of 103 cubic meters for transportation of agricultural products.
