Goods awaiting transfer through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points
There were about 9,000 wagons with various goods waiting to be transferred through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points as of September 6 compared with 8,800 wagons in late August.
Ukraine exported 193k tonnes of grain by rail in September 1-6
A total of 193,000 tonnes of grain were exported from Ukraine by railways during the period started September 1 and ended September 6 compared with 876,000 t during the entire August. Almost 160,000 t of grain were exported through the western land border crossing points in September 1-6
Liepaja SEZ cargo turnover in August
The Liepaja SEZ increased the cargo turnover by 10% month-on-month or by 45,000 t to 504,000 t in August.
Port of Klaipeda cargo turnover in August
After a three month decline, the Port of Klaipeda managed to increase the cargo turnover by 505,000 t to 3.5 million t in August. The Klaipeda State Seaport stepped up transshipment of goods by 332,000 t to 2.7 million t in August compared with July.
Freight indices // Week 35
The sentiment looks quite mixed on the small-tonnage shipping market this week. On the one hand, charterers have managed to stop the rate growth and even try to lower freights given a slight decline in activity ex Danube ports and decreased queues and delays at Sulina/Bystre (down to 78 dry cargo ships).
Wagon queues at land border crossings*
Almost 10,000 wagons were waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s western land border crossing points as of September 6, down 304 wagons compared with August 30. In particular, as many as 2,495 wagons were standing loaded with grain (down 134 units compared with August 30)
Slovakia to perform works in Sept 11-17 during technological windows
During a meeting of Ukrainian and Slovak railroaders, Josef Virba, a representative of ZSSK Cargo, said that from September 11 to 17, repair work would be carried out in Slovakia during technological windows.
