Ban on coal concentrate transportation to Slovakia for U.S. Steel Kosice
Starting from April 11 and until the decision is revoked, the supplier Svyato-Varvarinska Enrichment Plant LLC will be banned from transporting coal concentrate (UTSNG 161043) via the Uzhhorod-Exp border crossing to the Haniska pri Kosiciach station in Slovakia for the consignee U.S. Steel Kosice.

About 302 wagons (four trains) were transferred daily through the Chop – Čierna nad Tisou land border crossing in the period from April 1 till April 6. A total of 3,421 wagons were reportedly waiting at the Chop station on April 6.

Following the commissioning of backup coal-fired power plants in the fall of 2022, DB Cargo has transported 3 million t of coal (the company estimates that the daily volume is about 30,000 t) for 15 companies in Germany.
